North Leicestershire Football League :: Weekly Report Archive - January

Saturday 2nd January 2010
The weather was again the winner this weekend as only two games survived in the whole of the North Leicestershire League programme.

In the Terex Pegson Premier Division Anstey Town moved up to third place with a 3-1 win at Woodhouse Imperial, Beto Semedo, Eugene Ndi and Lee McNairn for Anstey, Alex Burrows for Woodhouse.

The other game to survive was in the Windmill Trophies Division Three which saw Mountsorrel FC win away at the much improved Measham Imperial by a 4-2 scoreline, Jak Newbrooks and Oli Page hitting a brace each for Mountsorrel, Andy Ivers hitting both the Measham goals.

Four games survived the weather this week and in the Terex Pegson Premier Division Whitwick Wanderers won 5-2 away at Sutton Bonington, Jamie Holms (2), Daniel Edwards, Ashley Forrester and substitute Gavin Edwards scoring the fifth late on for the Wanderers, Stu Brown and Nick Pick for Sutton. 

Belton Villa moved to the top of the Shedland.co.uk Division One with a 6-2 win at Loughborough FC reserves, Sam Brader (3), Lee Harrison, Tim Brown and Kevin Mumby with the goals.

In the Windmill Trophies Division Three a goal apiece from Danny Hurt and Danny Wedgner gave Caterpillar Reserves a 2-1 win at home to Ferrari FC, Scott Haley replying for Ferrari.  Sileby Saints Reserves won 3-1 at home to Mountsorrel FC, Pasquale Gibbons, Dan Moore and Scott Robinson for the Saints, Lance Bucknall for Mountsorrel.

Caterpillar FC went out of the County Cup 2-1, to a last minute winner against Blaby United, Brett Finney for Caterpillar.

Caterpillar FC opened up an eight point lead at the top of the Terex Pegson Premier Division with a 5-1 win at home to Loughborough Town, Nick Moore hitting a hat trick with Paul Satchwell and Chris Foster adding one each for Cat, Toby Webb for the Town.  Anstey Town beat Woodhouse Imperial 5-1, Ryan Brightmore (4) and Mark Brown for the Town, Alex Burrows for the Imps.

Shedland.co.uk Division One leaders Belton Villa won 5-1 at home to Sutton Bonington Academicals, Joe Lawrence (2), Sam Brader, Joe Hawkins and Dominic Lawrence for the Villa, Jaz Harris for Sutton.  A brace each from Joe Moseley, Tom Halcarz, Joe Reynolds and Jamie Carter gave Kegworth Imperial an 8-0 win at home to Loughborough FC Reserves.  Birstall Old Boys beat ATI Garryson 4-2, Tom West, Ashley Price, Ashley Byrne and Andrew Daybell for Birstall, Andy Irons and Ahmed Variava for Garryson.

Hex Holdings Limited Division Two leaders The Railway EWM won 2-0 at Loughborough United, Thomas Towersey and veteran defender Russell Boam with the goals.  East Leake Athletic Reserves won 5-2 at Woodhouse Imperial Reserves, Dean Hawkridge (4) and Mark Smith for the Athletic, Kurt Dayman hitting both the Woodhouse goals.  Bagworth Colliery were held to a 5-5 draw at Loughborough FC ‘A’, Leon Pennant (2), Darryl Brown, Peter Wesley and Thomas McRoberts for the Luffs third string, Matt Platts (4) and Max Carroll for Bagworth.

Windmill Trophies Division Three leaders Thringstone MW beat Sileby Saints Reserves 3-1, Lee Baillie (2) and Luke Hardwick for the Miners, Rob Wills for the Saints.  Caterpillar Reserves won 4-0 at Belgrave FC ‘A’, Rich Woods (2), Lee Grimshaw and Danny Wedgner with the goals.  Long Clawson won 6-3 at ATI Garryson Reserves, Matt Church (4), Shaun Hibbert and Alex Fairbrother for Clawson, John Pearce (2) and Matt Clarke for Garryson.  Whitwick wanderers Reserves won 6-4 at Measham Imperial, Will McNeice (2), Adam Raine, Paul Collier, Dale Marriott and Tom Smalley for the Wanderers, Andy Ivers (2), Adam Hoult and Tony Brown for the Imps.  Loughborough Emmanuel drew 1-1 with Ferrari FC, Dan Child for Emmanuel, and Albiniano Gianni for Ferrari.

Markfield FC ‘A’ opened up an eight point lead at the top of the RBF Fibreglass Limited Division Four with a 5-2 win at Anstey Crown Reserves, Peter Hibbert, Blade Hibbert, Nathan Kew-Moss, Ryan Turner and Ben Beeston for Markfield, Simon Moore and Nick Rushin for Anstey.  A goal each from Carlo edge and Dave Leigh gave Coalville Labour Club a 2-0 win at home to Shepshed Amateurs Reserves.  Greenhill YC Reserves drew 1-1 with Castle Donington Reserves, Tom Hudson for Greenhill, and Johnny Bevan for Donno.  Loughborough United Reserves drew 20-2 with Sileby Victoria Reserves, Paul and Josh Smith for United, Jake Rimmington hitting both for Sileby.  Sutton Bonington Reserves were held to a 3-3 draw at home by Genesis Reserves, Chris Rossington (2) and Zack Jackson for Sutton, Chris Coward, Myles Kime and Bartosz Sylwestrzak for Genesis.

In the Automedia Printers Cobbin Trophy 3rd Round Falcons FC beat Whitwick Wanderers 5-2, Ross Locker (3), Danny Parkin and Jack Richardson for the Falcons, Neil Cooper and David Edwards for Whitwick.  Loughborough FC beat Anstey Crown 6-3, Daz Barrett (3), Kyen Chapman (2) and Daz Lawson for the Luffs, James Peploe (2) and Danny Brown for Anstey.  Sileby Saints beat Markfield FC 5-2, Matt Boyles (3), Leo Coggen and Shane Wrigley for the Saints, Ezra Knight and Herbert Mawazda for Markfield.  A Lee Needham goal saw Shepshed Amateurs through to the next round a\s they beat Sutton Bonington 1-0.  East Leake Athletic also won by the same scoreline at Loughborough Athletic, Nick Dyer hitting the east Leake goal.

In the County Cup Greenhill YC won 4-3 at Ingles Reserves, James Armstrong (3) and Tim Morris for Greenhill, Matt Smith (2) and Simon Justice for the Ingles.  Thringstone Rangers lost 5-2 at home to Witherley United Reserves, Anthony Boyle and Danny white with the Rangers goals.  Birstall Old Boys Reserves went out 5-1 at Revive FC, Callum Tuckley for Birstall.

Goals from John Curry (2), Rob Taylor (2), Nick Moore, Ian Underwood, John Pope and Scott Pickering gave Terex Pegson Premier Division leaders an 8-0 win at Sutton Bonington.  Genesis FC beat Loughborough Town 4-1, Steve Straker (2), Chris Ford and Tom Hue for Genesis, Steve Warren with the Towns reply.  Falcons FC won 3-1 at home against Loughborough FC, Ross Locker, Sam Hogg and Matt Bishop for the Falcons, Darren Lawson for the Luffs. Woodhouse Imperial won 4-0 at home to Shepshed Amateurs, John Taylor hitting a hat trick, Craig Tebbs adding the fourth.  Anstey Town drew 2-2 with Sileby Saints in a game that Anstey missed a penalty and there were two goal in injury time, Ryan Brightmore hitting both the Anstey goals, Leo Coggan and Troy Bucalossi for the Saints.

Birstall Old Boys top the Shedland.co.uk Division One after a 6-2 win at Loughborough FC Reserves, Andy Daybell (3), Ashley Price, Ashley Byrne and Scott Bell for Birstall, Nathan Fallon and Eddie Melbourne for Loughborough.  Goals from James Peploe (2), Peter Newton (2) and Ben Morris gave Anstey Crown a 5-1 win at home to East Leake Athletic, Wesley Woodford for the Athletic.  Sileby Victoria beat Kegworth Imperial 2-1, Jake Rimmington and Simon Ogilvie for the Vics, Jamie Carter for Kegworth.  ATI Garryson drew 1-1 with Loughborough Athletic FC, Justin North for Garryson, and Charlie McHugh for the Athletic. 

Hex Holdings Limited Division Two The Railway EWM were beaten 2-1 at home by bottom club Thurmaston Rangers, Alex Hinds and James Gilmour for the Rangers, Jamie Storer for The Railway.  Bagworth Colliery won 5-2 at East Leake Athletic Reserves, Matt Platts (3), Max Carroll and Ben Cotton for Bagworth, Dan Hogg and Tom Tomlinson for East Leake.  A goal apiece from Andy Sherwood and Danny Morris gave Moira United a 2-1 win at home to Loughborough FC ‘A’, Ben Bacon for Loughborough.  Ingles Reserves won 5-3 at home to Castle Donington, Matt Smith (2), Ricky Stephnou (2) and Scott Bexon for the Ingles, Sam Lee, Steve Miller and Richard Marokity for Donno.

Windmill Trophies Division Three leaders Thringstone MW won 3-0 at home to Whitwick Wanderers Reserves, Lee Baillie (2) and Reece Broadhurst with the Miners goals.  Caterpillar Reserves won 4-2 at home to Loughborough Emmanuel, Gary Warren (2), Dan Wedgner and Rich Woods for Caterpillar, Dan Reeve hitting both for Emmanuel.  Long Clawson won 2-1 away at Mountsorrel FC, Matt Church and Scott Cartwright for Clawson, Thomas Mackay for Sorrel.  Greenhill YC beat Measham Imperial 3-1, Jamain Nelson, James Armstrong and Karl Harratt for Greenhill, Adam Hoult for Measham.  Sileby Saints Reserves won 5-1 at home to ATI Garryson Reserves, Callum Fitzgerald (3), Lewis Maxfield and Adam Clarke for Sileby, Matt Clarke for Garryson.  Woodhouse Imperial Reserves won 5-1 against Loughborough United, Kurt Dayman (2), Tim Pole, Tom Murray and Matt Costellow for the Imps, John Walker replying for United.

RBF Fibreglass Limited Division Four leaders Markfield FC ‘A’ won 2-0 at home to Coalville Labour Club, Ryan Turner and Ben Beeston with the goals.  Castle Donington Reserves beat Anstey Crown Reserves 4-1, Johnny Bevan (2), Sean Perkins and Tony Stevenson for Donno, Mark Coleman for Anstey.  Genesis FC Reserves beat Loughborough Galaxy 6-3, Nigel Wilman (2), Matt Reed, Andy Pask, Chris Coward and Miles Kime for Genesis, Darren Jones (2) and Peter Alymer for the Galaxy.  Shepshed Amateurs Reserves won 4-2 at home to Loughborough United Reserves, Alex ward (3) and Karl Parsons for the Amateurs, Ashley Heffer hitting both the United goals.  Birstall Old Boys Reserves drew 1-1 with Greenhill YC Reserves, Paul Merryman for Birstall, and Tom Hudson for Greenhill.  Sileby Victoria Reserves won 5-1 at Sutton Bonington Reserves, Danny Rushin (2), Liam Mills (2) and Connor Ferguson for Sileby, Zack Jackson for Sutton.
