North Leicestershire Football League :: Weekly Report Archive - May

Saturday 1st May 2010
Powerscreen Premier Division leaders Caterpillar FC lost 5-4 at Markfield FC, Neilan Morton (2), Levi Knight (2) and Herbert Mawazda for Markfield, Nick Moore (3) and Ashley Morris for Caterpillar, Caterpillar go in to their last game knowing they must lose by eleven clear goals to concede the title to Falcons FC.  Genesis FC finished their season with a 3-1 win at home to Ingles FC, Ryan Patman, Andy Cook and Joe McSharry for Genesis, Adam Smith for the Ingles.  Shepshed Amateurs won 3-2 at Asfordby Village, Daz Slater (2) and Chris Coe for the Amateurs, Michael Smith and Adrian Sharpe for Asfordby.  Woodhouse Imperial beat Loughborough Town 5-3, John Taylor (4) and Alex Burrows for the Imps, Matt Hilderley, Sean Beale and Toby Webb for the Town.  Sileby Saints also won 5-3 at home to Loughborough FC, Johnny Graham (2), Dan Moore, Lewis Tolton and Scott Robinson for the Saints, Darren Barrett, Ryan Page and Sam Price for the Luffs.

Ingles Reserves won 10-1 at home to Loughborough United in the Hex Holdings Limited Division Two and known need to win their last game to snatch the runners up spot from Thringstone Rangers, Danny Holt (3), Simon Justice (2), Matt Smith (2), Ricky Stephnou (2) and Tom Morley with the Ingles goals, Adam Baldwin for United.

In the Windmill Trophies Division Three Greenhill YC beat ATI Garryson Reserves 21-0 with goals from, James Armstrong (10), Jamain Nelson (4), Matt Lee, Ryan Wilkes, Carl Mead, Karl Harratt, Luke Burton, Michael Hextall and Jack Boobyer; they now need to beat Loughborough Emmanuel to clinch the title on goal difference.

Markfield FC ‘A’ are the RBF Fibreglass Limited Division Four Champions after beating Loughborough United Reserves 3-1, Nathan Kew-Moss hitting a hat trick for Markfield, Josh Smith for Loughborough.  Anstey Crown Reserves won 6-2 at Shepshed Amateurs Reserves, Simon Moore (2), Mitchell Hall (2), Russell Charlesworth and Chris Taylor for Anstey, for the Amateurs. 

There is a new name on the Automedia Printers Cobbin Trophy as Falcons FC beat East Leake Athletic 1-0 thanks to a goal from Danny Bowes.

Tuesday 4th May 2010
Catrepillar FC are the Powerscreens Limited Premier Division Champions after beating Woodhouse Imperial 3-1 in their last game of the season, John Pope, John Curry and an own goal for Caterpillar, Alex Burrows for Woodhouse. Goals from Ryan Brightmore (2), Phil Pearce, Liam McNairn, Lee Stone and Rob Harris gave Anstey Town a 6-1 win at Asfordby Village, Jakub Okownowski for Asfordby.

The last few games to wind up the 2009-2010 season took place and in the Powerscreen Premier Division Ingles won 2-1 at home to Anstey Town, Greg Fletcher hitting both the Ingles goals, Mark Brown for Anstey.

Ingles Reserves clinched the runners up sport in the Hex Holdings Limited Division Two with a 6-2 win at Castle Donington, Matt Smith leading the way with a hat trick with further goals from Simon Justice, Danny Holt and Matt Dadswell, Matt Hart and Sam Lee for Donno.

Greenhill YC beat Loughborough Emmanuel 5-0 and take the Windmill Trophies Division Three title on goal difference from Thringstone MW, leading scorer James Armstrong hitting a hat trick to make his tally 62 for the season, Jamain Nelson and Tim Morris both scoring to make up the five.  Basement side ATI Garryson Reserves won 2-1 at home to Belgrave FC ‘A’, Ashley Redfearn hitting both the Garryson goals, Mick Knock replying for Belgrave.
